This week on Worldwide Sting & Lex Luger prepare for their big tag team match by…wrestling in singles matches. Right on. Also on the show a big ol’ brawl breaks out between El Gigante, Ron Simmons, One Man Gang, and Kevin Sullivan. No Angel of Death this time though. Where’d he go?

*****

-LAST WEEK: El Gigante attacked by One Man Gang, Kevin Sullivan, and The Angel of Death (WHO?).

-Schiavone and Solie welcome the home audience from ringside. Hype for SuperBrawl of course.

Sting defeated Randy Barber via submission with the Scorpion Death Lock (2:23)

  • Nothing hypes a big tag team match more than one of the competitors in singles action.
  • Barber bails from the ring and catcalls the crowd for some reason. Back in the ring Barber and Sting do a criss-cross, Sting leaves the ring to yell to the crowd while Barber keeps running, and eventually he gets dropped with a clothesline. SOUTHERN RASSLIN’ BAYBAY.
  • This f*cking RULED. I was unimpressed with Randy Barber when I saw him, but he brought the comedy goods here and made things really entertaining.

-GREEN SCREEN PROMO: Nikita Koloff puts over his SuperBrawl opponent Tommy Rich as being in great shape so he has to be on the same level, but then quickly reminds everyone that his real goal is to beat Lex Luger for the United States Championship.

“The Total Package” Lex Luger defeated Doug Gilbert via submission with the Torture Rack (2:10)

  • Schiavone hints at Nikita Koloff’s possible involvement in tomorrow’s tag team match at SuperBrawl.
  • Doug Gilbert is underrated, I think. I want to watch more of his USWA/GWF stuff.

-RINGSIDE INTERVIEW: Schiavone is standing by with “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair. The debate (if there is one) on who is the true World’s Heavyweight Champion will end at SuperBrawl.

The Young Pistols (Tracy Smothers & Steve Armstrong) defeated Lou Fabiano & Hacksaw Higgins when Smothers pinned Fabiano after a flying elbow (3:31)

  • INSERT PROMO: Diamond Dallas Page and Big Daddy Dink have a surprise for The Young Pistols at

-SUPERBRAWL CONTROL CENTER: Solie here with the final edition of the Control Center. Scheduled card for tomorrow is rundown, we get words from The York Foundation and Dustin Rhodes about the Computer Match, plus The Steiners/Sting & Lex Luger music video WCW is submitting to the Oscars for next year.

“Flyin” Brian Pillman defeated Doug Vines via pinfall with a flying crossbody (1:43)

  • INSERT PROMO: Barry Windham vows to finish Pillman off one final time at SuperBrawl.

-Schiavone and Solie talk about the budding feud between El Gigante and One Man Gang. Clip of Gang, Sullivan, & The Angel of Death’s attack on Gigante from last week’s show.

One Man Gang [w/ Kevin Sullivan & Teddy Long] defeated Kevin Diamond via pinfall (0:23)

  • Long leads Sullivan on a chain, who is also leading Gang (w/ gimp mask) on a chain. He’s getting into the freaky white people sh*t.
  • POST-MATCH: Long calls Ron Simmons Simmons rushes in and trades blows with Gang, knocking him down with a clothesline. Gang rakes the eyes and clubs Simmons down. Sullivan holds Long’s head who screams “I CAN’T STAND IT AHHHH” which is amazing. Simmons hits Gang with a powerslam, Long and Sullivan interfere. El Gigante runs in but not before Sullivan THROWS MOTHERF*CKING POWDER in Simmons’ eyes. Gigante goozles Long, but is attacked by Gang and Sullivan. Simmons pulls Gigante out to prevent a 747. Simmons runs back in, the heel trio bail, Gang having to be held back by the other two. Gang screams that HE’S the giant.

Diamond Dallas Page tells The Young Pistols it’s going to be a long night for them at SuperBrawl then introduces The Fabulous Freebirds & Big Daddy Dink.

The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael “P.S.” Hayes & Jimmy “Jam” Garvin) [w/ Big Daddy Dink] defeated Rick Hardrock & Kip Abee when Garvin pinned both following a double DDT (1:28)

  • INSERT PROMO: The Young Pistols will be the U.S. Tag Team Champions at SuperBrawl. Bank on it. I will do NO SUCH THING, sir.
  • Hayes left hooks ‘em, Garvin finishes them with a double DDT and kneels on top of both to get the pin. Hardrock was on his belly but he wasn’t the legal man so it’s fine. The point is still made.
  • POST-MATCH: Big Daddy Dink drops Hardrock & Abee with a double clothesline, Hayes & Garvin sarcastically apologize.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick & Scott Steiner) defeated “Nasty” Ned Brady & Jim Boss when Scott Steiner pinned Boss with the Frankensteiner (1:38)

  • Cappetta announces Brady as “John Peterson” but both the graphic and Schiavone are going with Nasty Ned so I am too. Odd disconnect there, couldn’t have dubbed that out?

-Solie implores the audience to order SuperBrawl.

-CLIP: The brawl from earlier.
